Ok...the wait is over and I'm back to the world of blogging. It's been quite a year since I last wrote, so I think I'll just pick up from where I am now. I'm 11 weeks pregnant with our first child and we recently moved into a bigger apartment to make room for the little one. I'm working at the New Harvest Child Care Center as a preschool aide. It's quite a different scene from the Special Ed class I taught last year, but I'm really enjoying it. Doesn't pay very well, but there are full benefits and I'm enjoying life much more. Therefore, it's a much better situation. I'm going to start posting more...so stay tuned. =)

Grey's Anatomy

OK, I have to admit...I LOVE THIS SHOW! It's my current guilty pleasure. I think it is the best show right now. I may kick myself for saying this later, but currently it's the honest truth. It just does such a great job of being unpredictable and keeping you on the edge on your seat. These last few weeks' episodes have been amazing! If you have not seen it, you should really check it out. If you have, what do you think? If it's not this show, that which one is your favorite?

An Aunt Again...TWICE!!

It's official and I can tell the world that Alison (my sis-in-law) is 12 weeks pregnant with twins!! We are so excited to be an aunt and uncle again. These will be the first grand kids on Paul's side so his parents are pretty excited. Last weekend Paul and I went up to visit Alison & Craig and congratulate them in person. Alison and I had fun shopping for baby clothes and maternity clothes. My experience with the triplets is going to come in handy, I guess. =) Congratulations to Alison & Craig! WOW...TWINS! Our First Christmas Tree

This year I have come to a new realization of how much I love Christmas and all the decorations. We got our first tree this year. Last year we weren't home enough to have one, so this was our first. I have grown up cutting down a tree in the woods behind our house, so I had no idea how much work it is to get a real tree in the city. I was determined that we would have a real tree, it just isn't OK to put up a fake one. This turned into a three day process cause we had to find one in our price range, size range, and then realized that we needed a tree stand. The simple little tree quickly got very expensive, but we kept looking and found a deal. Here are the results. I am very pleased and smile every time I walk in the door.

Christmas in Disneyland!!

I love Disneyland, but even more I love Disneyland at christmas time. They decorate the whole thing with lights, trees, and other magic. There is special fireworks, a parade, and it even snows on main street. I love it! When we were down in LA to see Karter I was able to go with Kaitlyn for a few hours. We had a blast! Here are a few pictures to prove it and let you in on a little of the magic.

Percival Baby #3!

Welcome to the world, Karter Percial! Our friends Abe and Christa are the proud parents of their third daughter. Karter was born December 1, at 8:02 am. She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz 19 1/2 inches. Paul and I were able to go down and visit them the weekend after she was born. She is a beautiful little blessing. As you can see her sisters are pretty proud of her. =)

Golf and family fun!

We were able to play golf two days in a row with Paul's parents. It was pretty cold, I even wore my stocking cap. We had a good time hanging out with his family, and the golf was ok too. I played better the second day, but still not good enough to keep score for all 18 holes. We also had a little photo op our by the old willow tree! =)

Apple Pie

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We had a great turkey day with Paul's side of the family. We contributed quite a bit of the spread, but the most exciting was the pie. We made our first apple pie and it was a huge hit!

Lefse!!!

Tonight Paul and I spent the evening at his parents learning the fine art of lefse making. Lefse is a traditional Norwegian food that is a favorite at holidays. It is quite a process, and we are honored to have learned. Now we can carry on the tradition and be real Norwegians. Here are a few pics!

Clovis Changers

Three Wishes for Clovis was part of the 40 Days of Community series our church did. The church asked the city for a list of wishes for the city and then chose three of the wishes to grant. Many of the small groups participated in reaching out to the community in various ways. Our group choose to be a part of Clovis Changers, an outreach to help fix up peoples houses in the community. We spent a Saturday helping a single woman fix up her yard, trim trees, rebuild her fence, paint the house, and a few other minor repairs. There were over 50 people there throughout the day and it was amazing to see all the work come together. The woman was so greatful and very touched that we would do this out of the kindness of our heart. Here are some pics of the day. Wow, was an awesome thing to be a part of!

Fall in Fresno

I didn't realize how much I had been missing the changing seasons until it the leaves started changing colors here in Fresno. I am loving having a real fall. The leaves have been so so beautiful. A couple of weekends ago the Percival girls came to visit and we had fun taking pictures of them in the park. They are very photogetic and make the leaves look even better.

A New Do...!!

When we moved from LA I had just finally found a hair dresser that I liked, so I was very distressed about having to find a new one. I got a good referral from Paul's boss and here are the results. Paul has been saying for a while that I should go brunette, so when three other people suggested the same thing I thought maybe I should listen. I have to say that I like it too. What do you think?

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you had a fun evening. I can't beleive that we did not have one trick-or-treater! We were all prepared with candy and the decorations and no one came. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. We did have fun at the Harvest Festival that we went to at church on Sunday evening. There were lots of cute kids in costume. Well...better luck next year I guess.

Highlights from Clovis Hills

We've only been at Clovis Hills for a little over a month now, but there's already been some really cool stuff going on. We came in on the beginning of a building campaign. The church was trying to raise $1.6 million to prepare for the growth that is going to take place around the campus. In the next year a new high school, Jr. high, elementary school, and college extension campus will be opening across the street. An influx of thousands of families will be moving into the area surrounding the church. Clovis Hills needs to be ready to minister to these people, so they are preparing to add on to the youth building and finish the landscaping. We currently are at $1.5 million, and still moving. It was really cool to watch the congregation step up and get excited about being ready for the growth.

I got to be a part of one of the feature songs during the series. About 40 of us wrote our testimony in a few words on large arrows. On one side we wrote words describing our lives before Christ and after on the other side. It was very powerful, and really cool to be a part of. Check out the picture.

Now, we are in the second week of 40 Days of Community. Paul and I are hosting a small group for young married couples at our apartment. We are really enjoying the people in the group and are excited about what could come out of this. I'll write more in the future about Three Wishes For Clovis. Stay tuned....=)

After lots of research I have succeeded in adding a new element to my blog that I think you all will really enjoy. Yea...That's my husband!

I sit in church every week with this big cheesy grin on my face while I watch my husband lead worship on stage. I always think that the people around me must be wondering who I am, and why I have such a goofy smile. They probably think I have crush on him or something...well I do! Then, I look around and realize, that actually no one is looking.

For those of you who don't know, my husband Paul is the new music director at Clovis Hills Community Church. Ever since I met Paul I have been impressed my his musical abilities and loved to watch him sing on stage. Now, I get to watch him every week, and I love it! He is doing such a great job and I'm so proud of him. I can't believe I get to be that girl...the wife of the good lookin' musician singing worship songs. He's so so good, and I must say looks very attractive up there.

Paul is in charge of the music and band. He spends his days planning the music for the services, coordinating the volunteers, rehearsing, and many other things having to do with music. He is loving it, and really enjoys the people he works with. It has been such a journey to get here, but we know that this is exactly where God wants us. I am reminded of that every week when I get to watch Paul thrive in his element.

The Giants Game

Last weekend, Paul and I went up to San Francisco with Paul's parents, sister, and brother-in-law to see a Giants game. Paul finised his last college course, so the perfect celebration was for him to finally see a game at ATT&T Park. Paul is a faithful Giants fan (so am I now =) and he was tickeled pink to finally see them play a home game. We've seen them play in LA, but it's not nearly the same. The park was awesome, so clean and new. They even had a play area for the kids. It was really fun to be a part of all the team spirt and get to cheer for Barry Bonds without fearing for our lives. We rode the BART in from Walnut Creek and had a fun afternoon hanging out at the Embarcadero before we walked up to the game. It was so much fun to see Paul enjoy himself, he was like a little kid in a candy store. Check out his blog, for his perspective.

I Love Diet Coke...

I admit it, I absolutly love Diet Coke. I have to blame my sister-in-law for this post too, cause she is the one who got me hooked on the stuff. Plus, she wanted to know when she was going to make my blog, so here it is sis! =) I so enjoy my ice cold diet coke, it doesn't matter if it's in the bottle, can, or from the fountain. I love it! Paul says that I'm a "diet coke snob" cause I prefer it over diet pepsi. But hey, everyone has to have their little pleasure, and mine (other than chocolate, of course) is diet coke.

Ok, so I got this decoration to put on our door. It was only $1, so that makes it even better. I know I'm a big dork, but I just got a big kick out of it and was giggling the whole time I was putting it up. I wanted to be able to share it with all of those who will not see our door in person. =)

Think Pink

It's October, and that means it is breast cancer awareness month. So, I changed my blog pink to show my support. Breast cancer hits pretty close to home for me because both my grandmas suffered from breast cancer and my mother-in-law is a survivor. This spring will actually mark 5 years or her being cancer free. I have seen the destruction and pain it can cause to a woman and her family, but I have also seen the strength that it can bring out. For the last couple years we've participated in the Komen Race for the Cure with my husbands' family and it has been so powerful to see all the names of people that the runners wear to commemorate. It is amazing when you look at the facts:

Every three minutes a woman in the US is diagnosed with breast cancer.
There are over 2 million survivors in the US today
About 211,240 invasive cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in women this year.

Nicole Johnson does an amazing and very powerful skit about fighting breast cancer. You can read some of the dialog and/or order the DVD on her site. I saw the skit recently at a Women of Faith Conference and it was incredible. Check it out!

I hope this post will raise your awareness. I have so much respect for these women, my mother-in-law continues to impress me with her strength and positive attitude. Here is a pic of us just a few months ago.

My life as a nanny

For the past eight month I've been working as a nanny. I loved kids and have always wanted to be a nanny. I babysat when I was younger, but I wanted to do it again full time. God totally blessed me by connecting me with the Poskitt family. Scotty and Kristi are the proud parents of Taylor Rae (3 years old); and Avery, Elijah, and Jackson (1 year old triplets). When I started the triplets were only 3 months old. It was so much fun to watch them grow and be apart of their family life every day. I have to say that I don't think any job will ever replace this one, except for when I have my own kids =). I will probably continue to post pictures of these kids since I love them so much and miss them like crazy. Here they are in all their glory...(L-R Jackson, Avery, Elijah, and Taylor & I)

The Big Move

It's now been four weeks since the big move from LA to Fresno. It was a crazy weekend with lots of seat, heavy lifting and hard work. We had 18 awesome friends and family (see picture on the left) that came over to help us pack up the 16ft Budget rental truck in LA. We did the whole thing in only 90 minutes, so we decided to take off for Fresno that night. We crashed into bed around midnight. The next day we again had some great workers in Fresno that helped us unload the truck in only 45 minutes. The process was exhausting, but really rewarding. We downsized from a 2 to 1 bedroom apartment, so we did a lot of getting rid of stuff. It feels great to get rid of the junk. We now only have a few more pictures to hang up.

My mom and sister-in-law both flew in to help up move. They were such a blessing and we are so thankful. Mom ended up staying for almost 2 weeks. We had some great mother-daughter time and got lots of organizing done. I only wish my family was a little closer. However, we are excited about being closer to Paul's family. One thing both Paul and I were reminded up during this process is how blessed we are with the friends that we have. My sister-in-law was amazed at all the people that came to help, and it just reminded us that not everyone has such an amazing group of friends. What a blessing! A big thanks to everyone who helped int the process.

The First Post

Well...here it is, my very first post. I can't believe that I am going to be a "blogger." This will be a place where I can share things that are going on in my life with my friends and family that are all over the world. Since we recently moved, I am hoping this will be a way to stay in touch and continue to build relationships. I hope you enjoy my posts and will leave me lots of comments.
